BITE TRACES
Replacement traces are available in four different types. Using a different combination of traces on the backbone usually result in different fish species being caught.
Floating traces are reccommended where crabs are proving to be a problem pilfering baits before target species get a chance to take the hook.
All traces have quality size #18 hooks tied onto the trace. Flasher hooks are also popular with red and chartreuse or pink and silver metalic. Floating traces will float up a reasonable size piece of bait. They have a stopper that can be adjusted on the trace.
Anti tangle traces have a clear PVC tubing covering the trace. This helps with setting of the hook out from the backbone and preventing tangles when retreiving.
The addition of a small piece of fresh bait or squid is all that is needed.
